Our Story

R.A.M.S. Mechanical Inc. started off as a two-person HVAC firm in 1999. Mr. Steve Chen, a trained technician and self-taught businessman and entrepreneur, worked out of a small office in the Bronx, New York, to experiment the possibility of a marriage between his love for business and mechanical construction.

After struggling for four years, the first break came when the company won a HVAC contract with Queens College, and the company never lost the drive ever since. Before the first contract finished, R.A.M.S. was awarded another job for Jacobi Medical Center at double the compensation. In the next decade, R.A.M.S. grew rapidly, culminating in 2009('10) by moving their operations into a brand new 12,000-square-foot office and fabrication facility in Queens, New York, a facility that R.A.M.S. designed and built ourselves. Since then, RAMS has continued to receive numerous multi-million-dollar jobs and developed a strong reputation among recognized public agencies such as Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Dormitory Authority State of New York, and Metropolitan Transit Authority.

Today, R.A.M.S. Mechanical Inc. set even higher standards for ourselves, hiring the best and brightest to not only finish the job on time and on budget, but to adapt to the latest technologies, practices, and sustainability measures. We strive to take on bigger projects from both the public sector and larger construction companies, together making New York a better place to live for all of us.
